Who Are We?

Memphis Recovery Centers has provided treatment for chemically dependent persons since January, 1970. Alcohol and drug treatment is and always has been our only business. Memphis Recovery Centers is one of the largest and most comprehensive providers of alcohol and drug treatment services in the Mid-South. We are licensed by the Tennessee Department of Health for both residential and outpatient treatment for adults.
What Do We Offer?

MRC offers different kinds of treatment programs designed to respond to individual needs of adult men and women. Individuals are assessed and treated in the appropriate level of care with the flexibility to move up or down in intensity of care based on personal needs and progress. The treatment process consists of stabilization of physical needs, individual therapy, group therapy, alcohol and drug education, family therapy, and an introduction to community based support systems using Twelve-Step recovery programs.

DETOX / STABILIZATION

This program provides 24 hour monitoring of individuals in need of a safe physical and emotional withdrawal from drugs and alcohol. It is designed for crisis intervention and wholistic assessment in order to provide the most effective care to suit the needs of the individual. A medical/clinical treatment team will utilize a comprehensive treatment approach to integrate the individual into the appropriate level of care upon completion of the detox phase.
RESIDENTIAL

This program was developed with the individual, the family, and the employer in mind. Length of stay will vary depending on the individual's needs. Appropriate referrals for the Adult Residential program are those men and women who would not be able to function at a less intensive level of care because of their health, environmental, or legal situation. The focus of this program is on restoring optimal level of functioning. Family work is an important part of this restoration. This program is Twelve-Step and behaviorally oriented.
All residential patients begin in Phase I (Awareness Phase). In this phase, the patient becomes stablilized and evaluated. Phase II (Acceptance Phase) is designed to assist the patient in gaining insight, in relapse prevention, and in changing behaviors.
Our residential program can provide as many days as necessary to rehabilitate and also to assist in meeting legal requirements of those patients with a second or subsquent DUI.
EXTENDED RESIDENTIAL

The Extended Residential program provides long term, highly structured, individualized treatment for those with severe alcohol and drug dependency. Life skills training, assertiveness training, and behavioral modification are an integral part of this treatment program. GED and parenting classes are also available as appropriate.
The Extended Residential program begins at Phase III (Commitment Phase.) This phase supports socialization skills as the patient begins to develop healthy relationships with other recovering individuals in the community. There is continued emphasis on relapse prevention begun in the previous phases. Phase IV (Direction Phase) concerns seeking and maintaining employment, developing a realistic budget, and securing suitable living arrangements. In the final phase (Fellowship Phase), the patient is living away from the center, returning for Continuing Care, participating in Twelve-Step meetings and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. According to individualized needs, a patient may phase out at the completion of any phase and/or transition to outpatient status.
DAY TREATMENT

MRC provides a day treatment program for adults not requiring twenty-four hour supervision and who either exhibit an ability to function in an outpatient environment or have completed a residential treatment component. Day treatment requires a patient to participate for a minimum of five hours and a maximum of eight hours daily. This is available seven days a week and can be flexed to meet patient needs.
INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT

Intensive Outpatient is targeted for persons who are physically, mentally, and emotionally capable of functioning in their normal environment while participating in chemical dependency treatment. The program is heavily focused on relapse prevention and life skills that enhance the recovery process. The length of stay is open ended and determined by individual needs. The average stay is four to six weeks. Family work is incorporated into this program one evening per week.
CONTINUING CARE

People who have completed Phase II or our intensive outpatient program may use this once a week program to maintain therapeutic values gained in treatment. Sixteen sessions are provided at no additional charge for MRC patients. Additional sessions and/or drug screens can be provided at a nominal fee.
